I’m sure many of you are trying to squeeze in as much summer as you can. While you do…don’t miss out on all of the great stuff happening at PDX First this month. Here are three things you need to know about:
- Saturday, August 19, is our 48th Annual Salmon Bake & BBQ. For nearly 50 years this has been a great event for us to connect as a church family and to invite friends into a fun and engaging environment. We have something special planned for you to engage in, and there will be bounce houses and games for the kids. So…I need you to do three things: (1) Buy your tickets at Guest Services this Sunday; (2) Volunteer to help. There will be an insert in your program this Sunday; and (3) Invite your friends and neighbors. There are invite cards for you to use at Guest Services.
- The following Saturday, August 26, from 9-12 we will be engaging in a School Partnership Project with Sylvan Middle School. Every year we do some landscaping and cleanup of the school grounds to help create a warm and welcoming environment for students. This is just another way we can show love to our community. Our desire is that #LovePDX is something we do 365 days a year. Sign up at Guest Services this Sunday!
- Last, but not least, if you are new to this community of faith over the past several months, we would love to have you stay for a welcome lunch this Sunday immediately following the worship service. This is a great way for our staff and leaders to get to know you and for you to hear more about the church. We hope you will join us!
Have a blessed week and see you on Sunday for part 2 of The Art of Bouncing Back!
