Good morning, Portland First People!

We are officially in the advent season, a season that is filled with hope and expectation, and I am really looking forward to this Christmas at PDX First.

This past Sunday we kicked off our Christmas series, The Christmas Playlist, with a look at Mary’s Song, otherwise known as The Magnificat. We learned that this is a dangerous, revolutionary Christmas song that invites us to not only receive God’s mercy, but also inspires us to bring God’s mercy to the weak, powerless, and marginalized of the world. If you missed Sunday’s message or would like to share it with a friend, you can do so by clicking here.

Bringing God’s mercy to those in need is one of the greatest joys we have at Christmas and throughout the year. One of the ways we seek to partner with you as a congregation to maximize our ability to share God’s mercy with others in our community and around the world is our 2017 Compassion Catalog. This catalog is filled with local and global ministry partners of PDX First that we encourage you to bless during this season of generosity. The catalog encourages ways you can give of your time, your dollars, and your extra stuff (donate items). You can access the 2017 Compassion Catalog by clicking here.  Your gifts will help us bless these ministries all year long!

There’s a lot of fun stuff to be a part of at PDX First this Christmas and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to invite your unchurched friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers. We have a special service planned for Christmas Eve morning (Sunday, December 24), and you won’t want to miss it. It will be filled with Christmas music, a special presentation by our kids, and a message of hope in Christ. Please join us and bring as many people as you can.

Merry Christmas!

Pastor Brandin
