Dear Church Family,
I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas! We were disappointed that we had to cancel service on Sunday, but as you know so well Sylvan Hill quickly became a skating rink.
For those of you who will be in town on Sunday, we would love to have you join us for our final worship service of 2017 at 10:30. We will be looking at what we need to do to “Seize Divine Moments” this next year, and I am excited to share this message with you.
As you know, the fiscal year ends on Sunday and this will be your last day to give toward 2017. The cancelled service this last week has put added pressure on our need for end of year giving. I want to refer back to Pastor Brandin’s letter that I hope you received at some point last month:
“…I want to invite you to help us finish the year strong and prepare ourselves for an exciting 2018 by prayerfully considering an end-of-year financial gift to Portland First Church of the Nazarene. You can make a donation by giving in our Sunday offering, mailing a check to the church office, through your PDX First Church app, or online at pdxfirst.org/give. Please note that in order for these gifts to be tax deductible for 2017 they must be postmarked and/or given before December 31, 2017.”
We look forward to ending the year with you in worship and communion as we prepare our hearts for what God wants to do in and through our lives in 2018. Have a great rest of your week and we will see you this Sunday.
In His Service,
