I hope you are having a great day and everyone has had a successful start to their school year by now. I would love for you to join us tonight for our First Wednesday Prayer & Worship Service. We will be praying for a safe and successful year teaching the next generation of students who will soon take their place of leadership in our homes, government, workplaces, and churches. Join us tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Here are three things you need to know this week at PDX First:
- This coming Sunday we will welcome special guest speakers James and Katherine Radcliffe. The Radcliffes are global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in Papua New Guinea and are the parents of our own Priscilla Mills. James and Katherine have been integral parts of the work God has been doing at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital for many years. Kudjip provides medical, surgical, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatric, emergency, and trauma care to its patients with an occupancy rate of 98% to 100%. Please plan to join us and hear about how our partnership with these global missionaries is making an impact in our world.
- We mentioned last Sunday that the Church of the Nazarene is actively engaged in the recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. We would encourage you to pray about how you might contribute to those efforts. You can watch a video from Dr. Bob Broadbrooks here and make a contribution to the efforts here.
- Please be praying for the wildfires here at home. These fires are causing an enormous amount of damage across the state of Oregon and we have felt the impacts here at home the past several days. I would like to encourage you to be praying for the many lives affected by these fires and for those who are bravely fighting the fires.
Thanks for being such a generous and compassionate group of people. God is using you here and throughout the world.
Grace and peace!
