Nate Pond has resigned as our Volunteer Pastor of Outreach and Discipleship in order to accept a volunteer staff position at our daughter church, Eden Community. While we are sad to see him and his family go, we are also excited for them and the future God is calling them to. August 6 was Nate and Rosa’s final day at Portland First. If you weren’t here, we encourage you to send them a note to share with them your appreciation for their service to our community of faith these past several years.

All men and boys 12-years-old and up are invited to attend an awesome weekend at Kellogg Springs Camp, September 15-17, with other guys from across the Oregon Pacific District. This year’s theme is “More than Survival,” and activities will include a Warrior Dash, archery, late night movies, a Manly Man BBQ, and more! The cost is $90, and the registration deadline is September 1. Forms with all the details are available at the Guest Services desk.
With school not in session, families are providing more meals for their kids at home, and our food pantry has been used more often than normal. Items that we are currently low on include canned fruit, canned meals (such as Chef Boyardee), spaghetti sauce, oil, tuna, and boxed meals (such as macaroni & cheese). Non-perishable donations may be left behind the Guest Services desk at any time. Thank you for your faithfulness to this outreach ministry!
Work & Witness Conference
The 10th Annual Northwest Region Work & Witness Conference will be held September 15-16 at the Shilo Inn Suites Hotel by the Portland Airport. Bob & Colleen Skinner are the featured speakers. Register for the race at freedom-calling.org/heel2heal-freedom-calling-5k-color-run/. Please contact either Melinda West or Carolyn Bentley if you are interested in volunteering. Cards are available at the Guest Services counter for you to take and distribute to your friends and neighbors. Thank you for helping with this event!
