With Sympathy
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Angier and Casner families following the death of Quincy Angier on December 2. A memorial service is being scheduled for January or February; more details will be announced when they have been determined.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year! We hope you will join us for a special Worship Service at our normal time of 10:30 AM, filled with Christmas music, a special presentation by our kids, and a message of hope in Christ. Please join us and bring some guests with you! Sunday School and ABF classes will not be meeting that day, with the exception of the Encouragers ABF, which will meet at 9:15 for carols and goodies.

Upward Prayer Guide
Upward Basketball is a ministry our church provides for our community that brings hundreds of children and families together to learn new skills in an environment that celebrates them and their talents – and points them to their Creator! We would greatly appreciate your prayers to make this a great season! A prayer guide for 100 Days of Prayer is available at the Guest Services Desk.

Christmas Card Exchange
Feel free to use the box near the Media Center to distribute your Christmas cards to regular church attenders, and check for cards coming to you, too!

Offering Envelopes
Offering envelopes for 2018 are available for pick-up at the Guest Services desk. If you want to begin using numbered envelopes, please make a note on your Connect Card or contact Brianna Waldridge in the church office.

Staffing Update
The Garrisons have sold their home, and Karen and Tanner will soon be joining Rob in Colorado. Karen’s final day in the office will be December 19, and the family’s final Sunday with us will be the 17th. If you were not present on the Sunday when we honored Karen and Rob for their many years of service to our congregation, please take the time this week to express your appreciation to them. Brenda Hess has already been training for her new role as Business Manager to prepare for Karen’s departure and is doing a fantastic job. We are excited about how God has provided for us in this transition. Brenda will assume the full duties of her role upon Karen’s departure. Thank you for praying for our entire staff during this transition. God has been faithful!

Senior Adult Choir
The next Senior Adult Choir practice will be held Sunday, January 7, at 2:00 PM in the Choir Room. Everyone is welcome, even if you are not a senior adult! Please contact Danette Buchanan with any questions.

Family Breakfast Next Sunday
All families with children are invited to join us in the gym for breakfast during Sunday School (9:15-10:15 AM) on December 17. Grandparents and Friends in Christ are welcome, too! Kids will present some Christmas songs and readings during the breakfast.

The Family Room Christmas Dinner
Love cooking or decorating for the holiday? Join Fostering Hope on Tuesday, December 19, in Hillsboro as we put on Christmas dinner for The Family Room. This dinner will serve as “Christmas” for children in foster care and their biological parents. You are invited to join us in decorating the foyer, taking pictures of families and activities, cooking and serving food, and helping clean up. Volunteer time is flexible, so if you are interested, please contact Amy Gillilan.

Christmas Giving Tree
As in previous years, we want to provide the counselors at Sylvan Middle School with gift cards to distribute to students who can’t afford clothing, school supplies, or other things they need. To participate, please take a tag from the tree in the Level 4 foyer, purchase a gift card from Fred Meyer or Target, and return it to the basket under the tree by December 31.
