Experiencing God Study Group

On Wednesday, January 23rd @ 6:30 PM we will kickoff our first six-week session of the Experiencing God bible study.  This study is nothing short of transformational.  One of the things we are most excited about is the Experiencing God environment for kids.  Amy Gillilan, our Director of Children’s Ministry, will be leading our kids through the seven realities of Experiencing God, and the kids will go home with an activity book packed with fun games and activities designed to show your kids how they can discover and join God in His work.

Space for this study is limited to 25 adults and ten kids, so please reserve your spot and workbook today.  The cost of the adult workbook is $16.  Kids activity books will be provided for free.

A new, independent, community choir called Cantata Pacifica has begun meeting at PDXFirst in the choir room. They are welcoming new members. Here are some details:

They are holding an open house (including a bit of singing, of course) for potential new members and anyone who would like to learn more, on November 14 at 7:00 PM.

  • Extensive chorus experience not needed, but the ability to match pitch is required.

  • Repertoire: choral chamber music, from madrigals to contemporary part songs

  • Rehearsal schedule: Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

  • Location: PDXFirst Church!

If you know of anyone who might be interested, please encourage them to come and find out more. This is a great opportunity for people who love to sing, and are searching for the right “fit” for location, schedule and singing experience. Everyone is welcome to just turn up for the open house.
